Greetings Congressmen and Congresswomen, So many of you do not want to talk to the people you represent by tying up your own phone lines and blocking emails. LOL
Do you really think this is the way to act? Do you think it will make a difference in how the people feel?
Well, you are right in one sense. It will and is making a difference. The people are getting more angry and frustrated at being ignored.
What exactly did you think? That when you campaigned for the people's vote and made promises that it was all a dog and pony show? We have entrusted to you a position to represent the people in your districts and states. It was not a credit card to spend our votes any way you chose.
Many of you show up for votes and are not seen or heard from again. Thankfully, in my state, we have at least one representative who takes the time to listen to his district and consequently will have my vote when he is up for re-election. He has stood in congress and said that his constituents vote yes or no on bills. How many of you can say that? Don't look around at the one sitting next to you. Look in the mirror. If you cannot honestly say that you do that, or will do that, then we really do not need you to represent us, now do we :)
I cannot emphasize enough that this country is a republic not a democracy. For too long we have let the parties choose who we can vote for and in that respect I guess we can say its a democracy. But its NOT the way it should be.
Our Constitution is not just a piece of paper drawn up over 200 yrs ago by some guys sitting around with nothing to do, It is a living canopy of rights and rules that covers this nation. It lives because of WE THE PEOPLE !
This uprising of Americans is not just because of a health bill or opinions on a war. It is about you, Congress abusing our trust. We are a nation with a tendency towards trusting and believing. We believed you when you said you were on our side. We trusted you to do your job with us in mind.
This post does not apply to ALL congressmen and congresswomen but it does cover a lot of you. To those that cared enough to listen to us, Thank You. To those that are trying to squirm out from hearing from us, SHAME ON YOU.
